I find delves to be a detriment to the game and makes gearing up a shallow, unrewarding experience. You no longer have to do mythics or raids outside of LFG for high level gear and you only need champion or hero level gear to steamroll whatever unchallenging content the game throws at you. Bashing a monster pinata each week also dilutes the gearing process. I wish Blizzard made a hardmode version of retail WoW instead of classic so I can actually feel like I earned my gear and that its actually doing something.

What gets me is that they could've just taken them as the fel-tinged versions and they'd fit right in. Kael was already mircodosing everyone before he'd even escape the dwarves, so there was still a giant chunk thay never made it to the outland but where still sipping the green crystals. Would've been far more of a better set up to have the Regeant still be struggling with the effects, and makes the mana-bomb more conceivable as a snapping. they are clearly cutting back on the budget. Dragonflight was the expansion where there were mostly doing the right things and moving it forward. In TWW season 3, its just literally 2 dungeons we already did in season 2, combined with 2 from season 1, a megadungeon from shadowlands, a shitty shadowlands dungeon and an "eco dome dungeon". In DF season 3, you had a whole new mega dungeon, plus 6 new ones.

TLDR: seems like they are doing their best to cut down on work by heavily resuing old assets.

For all the shit you could give BFA, players were connected to the world and were often in it because you had to walk around everywhere and use flightpaths until mid-expansion. To expand on this, Dragonriding would have been fine core if they made it core while removing the Dragonflight flying talent tree it had in that expansion.
If you remove the talent tree, dragonriding is impossible to keep up forever. You run out of stamina and are forced to walk for a bit. You can extend the distance and time you Dragonride by starting at a high location or being better at dodging obstacles or being better at angling your flight paths. This was fine, it was fast and fun but limited.
They made it core and made every single talent point it had also core, so now you have infinite flying stamina and they functionally just made old flying but 3x speed and you have to press more buttons.

What even is that in 2025? The game is borderline story-less, it doesn't matter. There's no Horde. Sometimes Thrall gives you a quest, but that's it. Everyone's basically in the Alliance now.

One-button rotation has turned the gameplay into fucking Animal Crossing. Gearing up can be done in a few hours. Most of what people are in WoW to do is collect mounts and transmogs to show off to... who? The other people with the exact same mounts and transmogs?

I don't even know what WoW is supposed to be now. Like a Diablo clone with Xbox achievements? They're just dressing up the same old grind slightly differently and flooding the game with FOMO limited time shit. It's just chores to collect things you don't need for a game that was nostalgic for itself 7 years ago.

WC3 isn't some high work of literature, but it is well-written. People still discuss Stratholme, for instance. Characters acted consistent to their motivations, and scenes added depth rather than contradicted themselves. In WoW, you get contrived points like "there must always be a lich king" or Vashj collecting all the water in Outland. Not to mention changing characters like Arthas or Sylvanas.
The other part is that WC3's writing complemented the gameplay. You mind control ogres as Sylvanas and it tells part of her story. In WoW, writing is more about delivering cutscenes to justify the next raid boss.
