I skip all dialog and cutscenes in every game I've played in the last 20 years. If I can't I immediately drop it and refund. I want to interact with the medium.

I'm just not interested in the story/narrative of anything anymore, it's all the same shit over and over again with a different coat of paint. If it's something especially novel I'll give it a chance, but as soon as I start recognizing motifs I start ignoring it.

I genuinely can't understand how people can watch the same shows and movies on repeat (the office and bobs burgers come to mind) or, like, all of the shitty books that are just some nearly carbon copy varient of some other story with new characters and setting.

I'm probably actually autistic.

Are you eligible for disability in your country? Either way good for you. We have nothing in common but at least you can go play Arkanoid or I guess Tetris instead of talking on 4chan.

I get it, its overexposure to narratives.
If you read any books as a child a lot of game stories are predictable.
Games like Souls were fun for me because I didn't have to pretend to care for whatever story was going on I just wanted to git gud.
Fighting Games, racing games, simulations, 4x, etc these are more appealing

Vidya stories are pure garbage 70% of the time. They are even worse than mediocre tv shows. And some NPC\s unironically sit there and "play games" for the story, while doing mindless busywork in between those story rich segments.
Baffling behavior.
Even as a teen I realized that Trails stories for example are way inferior than most anime I watched. The cope is that "its a slow burn mannnnnnnnn" but reality is that its just playtime padding with meaningless babble.
