I have a standard 4070 and could run everything I've thrown at it on ultra so far at 1080p native, I think I'm good for a while

I've been playing everything from my 3080 laptop (kek)
it's only 1080p but I can max stuff out, only game that's given me issues is skyrim with like 2400 mods bc of the 16gb vram

things didn't go as planned, but I'm happy with the 5070ti. I will however be mad if they release a super version with more Vram for the same price, but knowing Ngreedia I highly doubt they will be this generous, and buying a GPU that's over 1K is absolutely out of the question anyway.

Went back to my 1660ti from a 3070ti.
Wilds killed all my desires to play any sort of AAA slop anytime soon.

Handles everything on ultra right now. I imagine by the end of the year or early next year I’ll need more VRAM. 16gb VRAM in the 5080 is kind of annoying frankly. For its price it should have had more. Oh well. I’ll either get a 5090 next or a super, if it’s a significant VRAM upgrade.

The problems with new games are not GPU power issues, the problem is stuttering. Stuttering can somewhat be mitigated by getting a better CPU, but getting a better GPU won't do shit. STALKER 2 stutters the same way on a 3060 and a 5090.

Nah there are certainly non Sony games that don't stutter. Off the top of my head Doom TDA, KCD2, Split Fiction, Battlefield 6, Tempest Rising. Probably a lot more but I don't play enough games.

Nah it works fine even without DLSS. Check out some of the comparisons on YouTube, you’ll get an FPS difference of less than 10 compared to a 4090. And that’s without overclocking. With DLSS, you’ll get very high frames and I honestly don’t see much of a difference with DLSS enabled. But it should’ve had at least 18 GB VRAM. In any case, the 5080 super is supposedly going to have 24 GB VRAM so might go for that or just go for 5090. But for now the 5080 handles the stuff that’s out there.

The meaning of "mid range" has changed. Mid range used to mean a card that gave you 1080p visuals at high FPS or 1440p visuals at mediocre FPS. With a 4070 ti super I get near 4K visuals at mediocre FPS.
