This game is honestly quite incredible and the purest example of gaming SOUL I've experienced in years. I remember playing Zeno Clash years ago and the bizzare, psychodelic world left a permanent mark on me - I can't name many other games where I felt this fascinated with a game's word and actually just stood in place completely floored and thinking "holy shit, what the hell is THAT in amazement". And the fact the devs did not give up on this world and made such a cool game is the perfect gift to me. The way how the game just drops you into this crazy world without any explanation, introduction or lore dumps and just expects you to explore is how a Zeno Clash game should be. And the fact that despite being a game where you play as a mutated bald weirdo styling on bizzare creatures and other mutant freaks with his (pretty badass) martial arts skills ALSO has a pretty moving, emotional story and characters that feel "human" and memorable is also something I absolutely love.
Yet this place never talks about this game and just endlessly spams about gacha slop, souless chinese/korean garbage or basic bitch normalfag trash like Death Stranding. For shame. I thought an autistic message board about videogames like this would be the place to discuss weird, niche games like this one, not function as edgy Reddit.

It's a damn shame their publisher wouldn't let them call it Zeno Clash 3

Totally agree, it's a shame this game seemed to fly under the radar. I recently picked it up and it's only become more and more fun as I've gotten the hang of it. Combat is highly gratifying, I love the weird world, love the music, love Pseudo and the Boy. Would highly recommend.

I buy a copy for a friend every time it's on sale. Game's atmosphere is pure kino. My most highly recommended hidden gem, I never make threads cuz /v/ will call me a shill.

The devs are Chilean and get being broke as hell, you honestly might be able to just hit them up and ask

One of the greatest soundtracks in recent years, if not of all time.
I also loved Pseudo's design BECAUSE he is so grotesque looking instead of yet another generic-ass design or some face-scanned prick.
The world itself could've been even more bizarre, thou, and it never really reached the utter insanity of some of ZC2's locations that genuinely made you wonder just what the fuck you're even looking at.
Sure, you could say that due to the game taking place long before the first one the world hasn't turned completely bonkers but I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to Nacon interfering, just like with the cut multiplayer components.
Shame that ACE is developing some run-of-the-mill UE5 slop now that visually doesn't seem to have anything of what they've been known for.

This is one of the very few games I have left a review on, simply because I felt absolutely charmed by the game. It is the very definition of SOUL to me and I completely agree with everything you said, especially the story and characters.

Are you serious? I love their crazy weird shit. It's a shame to see them become normie indie tier.
Were they acquired by Embracer or something?

Was there actually a reason why Claw was missing his crab during the first fight or was that just a bug?

Nacon is their publisher again for whatever reason and it seems to be filled with the usual UE store photogrammetry assets.
Oh, and it's a co-op game if you couldn't tell from the obnoxious canned "COMIN' IN HOT - I GOT THIS - GOGOGO" chatter:

man that video was depressing
it was ok for the first 90 seconds and then it happened
fuck
Wordst part is that before having to hear these totally real voices of players i was actually engaged, an AA third person adventure with muskets and sabres and a lovecraftian tone actually sounds more than decent

It's great until you realize healing items don't respawn but enemies do, something the game never tells you about that leaves you permanently weakened for engaging with the game's systems, and is almost certainly the result of a rushed development. Without that it'd be an 8/10. Also the ending sucks.

Yeah that's always the problem with prequels. I would have much rather have seen a long removed sequel to Zenoclash 2

It just amazes me how the first game was made on Source, there's no other game quite like it that uses that engine, the game has in game animated cutscenes.

Sometimes I wonder what kind of drugs the devs need to take to come up with the shit you see in their games

And it was made in Chile in 2009, I wish we had this kind of ambitious stuff in Mexico that doesn't end up being utter dogshit when it comes out if it ever comes out, sometimes they're straight up scams.

Did Pseudo destroying the artifacts fuck it all up for Zenozoik and return it to decaying barbarism?
Anonymous No.717694907
>>717694412
Pretty much.
But then again, the one rule and the ritual were utter bollocks, anyway, and I'm still not sure wether it was intentional or not that you as a player more or less realize over the course of the game that the odds are pretty much always stacked against you and that you're better off with ignoring both of them all thogether.
Hell, IIRC you don't even need the shield artifacts and can just tackle Gemini's palace from the start.

Combat can be kinda jank at first but after a while you get a bunch of moves and combat styles that are easily spammable.

That run up to the final confrontation was kino though. I love that kinda shit.

The devs said they were inspired by Bloodborne.
