In the conversation from the OP pic, John is arguing against fighting a revolution. John knows that as long as there are guns and money, someone will come along and pick up the conflict after it ends. John himself is in the middle of being press-ganged as a hitman by the FBI because of something he did in the past.
Thinking he's saying "guns and money are bad" is the literalist midwit take. John is saying that there will always be people around to use those things against you, even after you "win" your revolution or whatever it is you decide is worth picking up a gun for. It's not an anti-gun or anti-money thing, it's a "violence is cyclical" thing.
