I can't call myself a Homestuck fan anymore, not when I think over half the comic is actual shit. The Alpha Kids were a mistake, pandering to tumblr was a bigger mistake. The trolls were fine and the Alternia Act was genuinely one of the consistently funniest parts of the comic and showcased Hussie's strength in creating worlds that are simultaneously completely non-nonsensical and somehow internally consistent.
Also obviously the actual peak of Homestuck was the Midnight Crew Intermission.

Act 1 is a bit slow, acting as a segue between PS's very goofy/chaotic structure and what HS would eventually turn into.
Act 2-4 are peak, perfect blend of comedy, intrigue, and world building
Act 5 is where the cracks start to show, it's still good but you get a lot more jumping around and narrative threads that are starting to pile up only to get non-conclusions in an attempt to clean up the story.
Act 6 and beyond are the point of no return, when the comic has completely devolved into bad drama, obnoxious poochies, lgbt pandering and characters lecturing each other on tumblr coded shit like toxic masculinity. The gay kid gaslights and sexually harasses another boy but you're supposed to clap because gay is beautiful. The last year or so of Homestuck was ghost written and it really shows.

Alphys is the most extreme example of Toby poking fun at anything and it's still done in a way that acknowledges the genuine value that media has to the people who are into it. If Toby was as irony-poisoned as Hussie and his ilk then Alphys would have been written like one of KC Green's retarded Anime Club characters. Instead, Alphys in UT is given a genuinely nice ending and Alphys in DR is a fairly respectable member of society, being a teacher who's generally well liked by her students.
