It's not a coincidence the main narrative right now "lmao look at the silly skins COD has BF6 just has real soldiers" because that's all people that ostensibly play COD bitch about in regards to COD.
Now is that actually a weakness for COD outside of a vocal minority? Probably not, those skins are popular and sell well for a reason.
The main thing to look for will be now that the "game"/beta has been fully available to the public, what the pivot will be.
For what it's worth I think the game is alright if the maps just vacillate between claustrophobic corridor blasting and wide open dead space with half-assed line-of-sight breaks to stop snipers from reigning supreme.
