In game voice chat was complete garbage on all front. The people who used it were terrible and the actually service itself was extremely poor in quality. As for interactions? Why does using discord suddenly mean you're not interacting with people? You can easily join official games discords and find people to play with. The interactions will be just as terrible as before.

Games are too serious. It seems like people only use comms to bitch at their team for not making rank number bigger. Multiplayer lobbies back then we're just chatrooms with a game attached. The atmosphere is just so different now.
