Like the other MS Paint Adventures comics it was basically a webcomic told through the format of an adventure game interface and with pretty great for a webcomic production values.
It was an autism magnet because it basically just pinged a lot of the nascent late 00s/early 10s internet space's interest and left a lot of room for people to do the usual fandom stuff, make OCs, write fanfiction, etc. A lot of room for people to take creative liberties with what was going on on the page.

Mind you I liked Problem Sleuth but dropped out of Homestuck pretty early so everything I know about it is pretty much from secondary exposure.
