It seems like you have to sweat your ass off in MKW for a marginal advantage. Even though you're doing a dozen different tricks a second for mini-turbo in MKW, mini-turbo doesn't actually seem to give you a significant advantage. My interest in Mario Kart peaked with DS and Wii, where it was possible to really break away from the pack of feral pit bulls trying to maul the toddler in 1st place. That's the other issue with MKW: 23 players behind you is complete fucking chaos.
