Yeah. I liked both of course but a lot of the fun stuff in V was added after the game awards. The level design in V sucks, the enemies are “alright” and there’s 3 bosses that were fun but the rest kinda just sucked. I didn’t even like the mini-bosses in Sekiro either, but the main bosses were really fun and I did like stealth killing and exploring. In all the DMC games, exploring was my least favorite part and it’s because it has missions and ranks.

Fromsoft players barely even play games outside of souls shit. Because of this they're easily impressed by any souls game that has combat with slightly more depth than the average rollfest. This is why they praise shallow combat options like mikiri counter (a literal QTE), they just haven't played any games with real depth like DMC or Ninja gaiden.

Dmc has sandbags enemies that can’t even hit you if they’re off screen, it’s braindead shit unless you play the game 3 times and even then, the difficulty is just putting the hardest enemies with higher HP and killing you in 3 hits, it’s garbage, the level design is inferior, the environments are repetitive garbage and it’s just arenas with enemies, name me one level in dmcv that even comes close to the snake setpiece
