for me it was
>bad thing happens
>almost every game you liked remembers you of bad thing
>start new games, theyre feel good and you like their mechanics but youre not enjoying things even if you like them a lot
>old/obscure games in particular feel bad because its as if i was stuck in the past going nowhere, theres not even anyone to talk about them
the thing is, you gotta find some way out (ideally not suicide). put in some effort to escape this miserable soulless loop that you either imposed upon yourself or your circumstances imposed upon you

i started contributing for reboots of games and doing some high profile mods for vidya. not because id normally rather to do that than vidya, and not because i stopped being an extremely lazy undillegent ass, but rather because the enjoyment of actually playing vidya, or anything else for that matter, was completely robbed from me by unfortunate events. But then seeing people actually like the shit i make, become the way many/most people play the game, etc made everything feel better because now life is actually going somewhere, theres always something good to look forward to, and playing obscure SP games dont give me the feeling of spending my time doing something that goes nowhere, and hopefuly soon enough im gonna start making my own vidya.
You just gotta identify your problem and come up with some way to break out of it, be it on the internet or IRL. Yeah theres a 50% chance that actually trying out new shit, finding the solution, and actually starting it out: completely fucking sucks is by far the hardest part. But its probably more fun than whatever you feel right now
