It's all automated suck to target crap and I'm tired of this trend.
The worst thing is how they even now copy shit from sekiro, like the grappling hook.
The fucking Tenchu on PS1 had dynamic grappling hook, you could use it however you want, both in traversal and combat situations.
But no, gotta have "press R1 on a fixed point to do cinematic jump" like in Sekiro.
There are other bad elements, like the on-rails section (including on rails parkour shit like Sonic Adventure had), which is ironic when NG04 had, once again, dynamic in-gameplay parkour system you could utilize at any moment, you didn't have to suddenly load into a QTE cutscene sequence where Yakumo is auto sliding on a fucking wall and press R1 to grapple to another point to avoid the train going at 5mph at you.

The difference between an automatic and manual aim, is control. If grapple is fully automatic, then you might be pulled yourself into a disadvantaged direction against your will. But with manual control, your ability to control the grapple determines exactly where you're pulled.

There are a few ways to handle the grapple function. One way is to make it so that when you press the grapple button, and then tilt the thumbstick in a direction, A ray is shot in the direction of the vector that your thumb stick is in. And whatever surface it contacts, it grabs that position, making it your grapple point. This would be functionally instantaneous. So it doesn't require any pausing, camera shifts, or slo-mo. Just skills on the sticks. You'll probably mess up a bunch when you're beginning, but that's kind of the point. It's a skill you have to get good at.

Nope this looks off even with the Ryu gameplay. It looks like a copycat game that misses the mark of the smooth gameplay of the prior games. If you can't see this you are blind.

The first few seconds proves what I mean. There is some weird jank there when Ryu gets blasted by the rocket or explosion. This would not have looked that way even on the first NG game all the way back on Xbox OG.

It's during this rose flash where you can perform Bat Within and a perfect parry with Moon of Maaha Kalaa. In NG4 you get the fucking glowing warning symbol any time an enemy initiates an attack. Is Horoshi Shibata still at Platinum? There's no way he's involved with NG4 from what we've seen of it.
