I didn’t like how much rupee you needed to do stuff in BotW. Ingredients, armor, weapons, and the freaking house. Felt like I was playing Skyrim.

The Master Sword upgrade is definitely worth it just to have a weapon that lasts. Base 60 damage * 188 durability means you can deal over 11,000 damage before it runs out of energy. Sheikah Slate upgrades are worth it, already had the parts I needed from the combat shrines. One heart container per divine beast is fair, and one spirit orb is a decent reward for the vast majority of shrines. This is one of the exceptions as far as dungeons go. Lazy ass Nintendo didn't bother making the reward proportional to the effort

It's not even thay hard since there is a lot of food and cooking pots if you need them.
Now the master sword trials were bullshit.
At full power it's still slightly less brittle than the other swords and the damage is mediocre.

in my first playthrough which was blind I somehow ended up here super early with still 3 hearts and only half an idea of how the game worked

I finished totk in 70 hours and feel I got everything I could out of the game. It was alright, I’ll never play it again. When it’s so easy to beat final ganon with a couple of attack potions, a lionel bow and like 10 hearts, 90% are really not interesting

After playng Xenoblade X, I'm starting to nderstand what people mean when they say that the new mechanics were just tacked on. Xenoblade X's whole world and progression was designed around flight, it's an intrinsic part of every inch of the world's geography, TOTK, they just put some new stuff on top of the old map and threw in the Zonai stuff.

It's fun in that you can break, cheat, or bypass stuff with a bunch of different "exploits", but the game's level design almost feels like it ignores the existence of Zonai stuff like flight and battle robots etc.
