I don't think I'll ever understand the people that hate this game, in particular the BF4-was-the-only-good-battlefield types who genuinely think BF6 is a return to form.

Base game's maps suck

Pacific maps however show that there is a decent game underneath and it can shine if you couple it with good map design. Support class with its mgs are useless tho, no matter the map

Tl;dr: bfv base 4/10, bfv pacific 8/10

bf1 feels like ww1, bfv does not feel like ww2.

literally nothing about what's happening has anything to do with WW1. Nobody is fighting in trenches. Everyone has experimental weapons, some of which were never even produced or existed at the time of the war. Fights are centered around heavily armored superweapons and bulletporof supermen.
It actually is really funny how BFV got flak for looking like some alternate history nonsense with the female characters and weird cosmetics but BF1 is practically more of an alt history take on WW1 than BFV is WW2

compared to what? Most of modern BF's maps are flattened killing fields and meatgrinders, BFV's maps generally had a reasonable amount of natural cover and foilage to play around. Do you prefer Liberation Peak or Cairo to something like Twisted Steel or Rotterdam?

This game felt like it finally figured out how the 4 classes should actually work, with medic having SMGs and assault being anti tank, but now with 6 we have LMGs (passive weapon) on medic (class that needs to be on the frontline) and engineer back. Don't even get me started about they refuse to bring back building
