yeah well, palworld unironically has more active/engaging gameplay. We all like the monsters itself, just not the gay turn-based gay rpg gameplay of the modern pokemon. It probably worked better on 2d and when it was top view hubworld, but the moment the game became 3d and introduced camera, a very strong dissonance was introduced. The camera and 3d are hinting that the game should give player freedom, yet the freedom is immediately robbed as soon as there's combat. Like imagine if you're playing first person FOV game with very fluid fast motion, 240fps like call of duty or overwatch or something.. then you encounter a mob and the game suddenly becomes turn based combat. That's the disconnection happening with 3D pokemon games, and that's why Palworld does combat better (even if its fortnite combat is bad, the pokemon's is so low bar that anything can beat it).
