Eh, but I would argue that depending on the programming task, it’s much faster to let AI spit you out something boiler plate and then modify it. Much of the worst parts of programming come from writing/copy pasting basic ass function/methods/classes/logic just to get whatever you’re trying to do started.

I find AI is pretty decent at giving me a prototype close enough to handle most of this “busy work”, so that I can dive into the difficult part right away. It’s also pretty great for other lame things like writing documentation and test cases. Again, you always need to review and modify them, but it’ll get you 80% there.

I know this is probably a troll, but writing and maintaining enterprise level applications contains a ton of busy work. It’s a big reason why I believe so many “programmers” are being laid off: so many of them didn’t engineer or build shit. They just had jobs as QA testers, documentation writers, and bug fixers who did slight modifications to something smarter people designed and implemented. All that work cannot be replaced with AI, mind you, but it significantly reduces the number of people you need to keep up with all that bullshit that large repositories require.
