Because mortal kombat doesnt respect its fans or itself anymore. the reboot is half assed shoving in the kameo system so they can have their cake and eat it to while dragging down the gameplay. they dragged in the old universe by the end of the game rendering it pointless. the on dlc characters from other franchises instead of fleshing out the reboot. not that it matters their probably just going to bring back the old universe anyway because the reboot is too undercooked for anyone to care about it.

I like Mileena but I honestly wish her characterization had a modicum of consistency to it. She’s essentially a different character every game she appears in. I prefer IX’s childlike Mileena the best but that might just be my personal bias speaking. I’d like for them to make her more like Juri Han while playing up the ugly little duckling cutesy little psycho girl routine. It makes her sympathetic despite being almost a feral monster, makes sense with her freshly created half-clone origins, and could have a reason to make her resent Kitana for being the pretty original and wanting to take her place as someone loved. Cameos are 100% the best they could cobble together from a previously worked on tag system, which got canned due to the game being rushed. I'm 100% sure it is. 11 already had a semi-functional tag mode (only in towers of time with predetermined characters and it was always 2v1) after X scrapped it.

Because I don't play fighting games anymore, just like I don't play racing games anymore. Fighting games are only fun if you're winning and after a certain point you won't win unless you spend countless hours in practice mode like a no-life faggot learning what's "pLuS" what's "NeG" and gay shit like that. Racing games are just boring now as they don't make shit like NFSU and Burnout anymore. Every now and then I might get the itch to play MvC2, Power Stone, or Bloody Roar but outside of that fighting games are shit and not worth the time.

It's plainly true that the series lost itself after 9, and even it was a departure from many things that make MK MK.
Like the music. Generic fucking orchestra. Compare it to the 2d games, or better yet, Deadly Allience and Deception. They've actually got their own style.
Meanwhile you can't leave 11 idle in the menu because they made the composer write the most bombastic and loud piece specifically for that part of the game.
