Most people will run Gold Ship because End Runners are spared from most of her debuff skills, its better to aim for a sure thing with 2 Ends and an Evil Nature of your own, you only need one of them to cross the finish line first.

This, Rice Shower has only one race outside of her race distance (mile). All other races are easy as shit once you understand it. King Halo is a melting pot that goes from Medium to Long to Sprint and Mile and than again to Medium in Tenno Sho and again to Long if you want Arima Kinen secret event
None of the umas are hard once you have rite MLB SR/SSR for them and if you are not braindead.
Only time I have real difficulty is trying to make Evil Nature, since I don't really win the races with her.

You DON'T NEED Kiryin. In fact she bricks your runs, since she doesn't give you stats like normal cards. Kiryin and Tazuna are generally run only with sprint umas, since they can afford not getting those stats.
Run as many cards that give you mood ups passively. Go borrow Kitasan. Of you have Speed Spe, use her. Open this https://gametora.com/umamusume/supports
and check every card you have if it has moods up, preferably on first event. Hell run Eishin Flash and consider going Late Surger if you must. Fukukitaru WIT is also not a bad option.

If you're really that new, than all try to get as many carats and roll on upcoming Super Creek + Tazuna banner. You will do this mostly to get as many SRs. Best way to do this is getting as many trophies as possible and do "Race won in a run" with Bakushin

Im not that new. Ive been playing for a few weeks. I know the trainer cards arent necessary, I only used it a couple times just because nothing else was working and Ive had Kiryuin work out before when I didnt think it would. For rice i learned it’s really not a good fit. I do borrow a Kitasan, but I dont have a special week unfortunately. I know what makes a good support card, I know which cards raise mood. None of it seems to be enough for my rice shower because something ALWAYS goes wrong with that horse. Ive trained up 200+ Umas and Rice consistently struggles and has far less wiggle room for error than the other trainees. I really dont think she’s worth taking into Golshi mode due to the higher difficulty. I also dont have Super Creek yet but Im saving up what I can to roll for that. Only managed 2LB kitasan so Im still borrowing the MLB one.

I also only had one bad run so far, at worst I got a couple of races where she ends 2nd for various reasons (and most of the time reasonably so). The non-goal G1 races though feels more brutal, but maybe the difficulty is scaled based on the fans reward. Depends on how much you bet and per race. You can even bet on races happening elsewhere which is probably why Japan/Cygames managed to get in a sponsorship with Kentucky. Japan races are going all the time for sports betting.

That being said, please practice self-control. When I was at the races in-person last week, there were addicted gamblers blowing pay and just saw it as another avenue to gamble in.
