The thing that makes fix camera so great are the kino angles. It was like being personally pampered. Someone took the time out of their life to ensure a perfect shot and beautiful composition for you to enjoy. We dropped all of that for waypoints, yellow paint and detective vision. Life is fucking sour.

Fixed camera angles are capable of delivering actual kinematography, taking full advantage of framing, composition, editing, perspective, etc.
They also save massively on time, since even if they're not pre-rendered, you don't need to put effort into modelling anything that's obscured or too far away.
Ultimately you shouldn't even include camera controls on consoles anyway, since dual analog can't control a camera in a satisfying way and the necessary compromises in performance and gameplay are massive.

Silent Hill does it better, some areas you just want the camera to follow the player like an open area or a long corridor, but when a cinematic angle is necessary it delivers.

Japanese designed that game because one fat American would full up that entire area let alone fit in one of those chairs.

I agree with you. Which is why Silent Hill 1 remake will be dogshit, because they won't put the static camera angles. Is it just lack of effort and work ethic for modern game devs?

SH also has panning camera angles, it's just the natural evolution of fixed camera.

Pros:
o points of interests are easy to spot
Cons:
o controls like ass where changing screens is disorienting with the change in perspective
o feels voyeuristic with creepshots or an out of body experience compared to ots or fpp

in conclusion: just watch a movie you cuck, you sacrifice gameplay for visual composition

I wish we could get just one more RE with fixed-camera and pre-rendered backgrounds. The RE1 remake and RE0 visuals were done on primitive 2002 tech, I want to see just how insane a fixed-camera RE could look with modern tech.

I'm not against opinions, but this is some half-assed attempt of an argument. You list one pro, and it's one not even on the top of the list normally stated. Kys faggot.
