Just because you look at it with rose-tinted glasses as it was part of your childhood, doesn't mean the game was gimmick-free. Fuck, you couldn't even spin jump with a button press, you had to waggle for it. There were several stages with mandatory tilt controls, including most underwater segments (koopa shells). It could've been a fantastic game were it not tainted with wii wagglan bullcrap.
