I've thought about moving to one of those Steam/Gaming centric distros like bazzite instead of Windows 11, but I'm not sure if I should wait until after I build a new PC or not to do that.

I have to use Windows because my computer is so old that nvidia drivers for it are no longer maintained in the Ubuntu repos. I could try Debian 13, that probably still has the legacy drivers but at this point... Why bother? What do I do the day Debian drops them too? Use nouveau? No thanks. With nouveau my games run worse than they did on my old desktop from the late 2000s.

As far as UX goes KDE and Windows are practically identical.

So I'll just use the "unsupported" Windows 11 which runs better on my hardware than the "recommended" OS with the "recommended" nouveau drivers.
In my experience Linux gaming is only good if you're using very recent (but! Not TOO recent!) hardware and good hardware at that

If you're even asking that question, which implies that you don't already hate Windows, then there's no point. The tangible benefit of switching to Linux is that Linux is not Windows, and if that doesn't appeal to you then the thought of Linux needn't ever cross your mind.
