The 10 year story arc was over, the game is very dated because they refuse to invest in updating the engine. This latest expansion had to be a 10/10 and come with lots of big updates, to make people re-invest in the next 10 years. Not only was the expansion shit, but everything they have done and are still doing it lazy and cheap.

They need to remove Yoshi P and put someone else in charge, but they won't and so it's just going to keep getting worse. He does not really care about 14 anymore, he wants to work on other games like 16.

Red mage is a very good and super versatile job but getting the spells and equipment to make use of that versatility can be expensive for a newcomer. If you want to be infinitely useful and always in demand, go with Bard. Thief, Dragoon, and Dark Knight are pretty undesirable in leveling groups but all shine in endgame content for various reasons. Ranger and Ninja are both extremely expensive to play because of the ammunition they have to buy, so you may want to shy away from them.

I have run maps with my FC nearly every Saturday night for the last two years. I have gathered or bought my three to four maps every time. I thought everyone else was also, but I recently had the suspicion that not everyone was pulling their weight. You see, the FC map nights are “Everyone rolls need”.
Don’t get me wrong, that isn’t a problem a few months into the expansion when you are burning a 20-40K resource, as you can on most nights make that back. Maps were selling for 350K last night, and I even reminded everyone on Discord to bring new maps.
Out of 6 people, we did 11 maps. The new minion dropped, and of course, a person who didn’t bring maps won it. Once I realized we were done at only 11 maps, I asked the FC leader if we could set a rule for next week that you had to bring three maps or you didn’t roll.
Two of the others who didn’t bring maps were already flaunting the torch and are part of another, more hardcore FC. They can afford 350K gill for a map, I, who has never seen past 24mil and who is currently sitting at 7mil, cannot. If I can show up with three maps, then so can they.
Am I the asshole for wanting everyone participating in maps to bring maps, or forfeit the right to roll?

FFXIV is 12 years old, they have already overstayed their welcome, not even games like WoW are relevant anymore. OSRS is probably the only one that will survive because the game is just grind, no story, nothing else, just gameplay, and it is something you can pick up at any moment.
