Few brutal battles in between long and boring stuff like marching from one place to another as quickly as possible, worrying about supplies and planning ahead to reduce the boredom and prepare for battle.

You honestly don't need big stats in Thracia. Just a shitload of HP, and you're golden. It's probably the only game where HP is the meta stat. About 10-12 in everything else is more than enough for 95% of encounters.

In my experience, there's really no harm in tossing Ross a few levels and seeing if he gets a bit of speed. Super easy to get to level 10 on the early game jobber enemies because of the hatchet.
