Playing the PGR collab and it’s insane how Vergil & Dante are leagues about the entire cast, especially since they gave them the most jank hitboxes known to man, Dante able to uppercut in a full 360 that goes 20 feet around meanwhile Vergil has so many iframes they might as well disable the health bar.
God that game is shit though, gacha down to its bone marrow even with bonuses for finishing missions under 80 seconds.

I do think it’s really funny the Sparda boys have completely overshadowed the brand new wedding side story, they made a multiminute unskippable cutscene with Joan Anime wearing her new $60 ingame store dress, you need to physically click her hand so she grips yours and helps place the ring on your finger with outspoken promises to love you forever, I don’t hear shit about that and it’s fun to imagine this bitch getting left at the altar since the groom saw Dante breakdancing in the parking lot, bailing right after her passionate romantic speech to watch him dunk on Vergil

The exploding hands shit is terrible. They are absolutely afraid of giving him a toolkit or options. They were afraid to give him more than one sword and gun or style, in DMC4, which is why that game is so shit, Wait TEN YEARS for Nero to get some new skills and they are hands you have a very limited quantity of you have to blow up permanently in order to use more than one in a fight.

I think the worse thing about Nero in 5 though is that they finally solved having to crab claw Blue Rose charge attack down forever in order to deal damage because he now loads special ammunition you can gently deploy on your next shot...ONLY TO REINTRODUCE HOLDING THAT GODDAMN BUTTON DOWN WHEN HE GETS HIS DEVIL TRIGGER AGAIN. I play it to relieve stress unironically. The controls are so solid. It does feel like a tech demo at times though... its a fantastic foundation for something truly kino.
