After Zanza fell asleep and as millennia passed, the Telethia evolved into the High Entia. But there was a code in their genetics that would force pure blooded High Entia back into Telethia if exposed to high concentrations of Ether. A genetic defect that was noticed and what started the 2 marriage thing in Alcamoth. The High Entia ruler would marry another High Entia as his queen and take up a Homs (human) wife and have a child with her. The hope being they could eventually breed out the genetic defect over time.
