its not even coming from a "snoy bad" console war angle, legitimately the value of a console is weighed out by its games
The PS5 is expensive and, lets be real, kind of shit. Its underpowered, has a shit CPU, has no power control meaning its costing you more than you think on your energy bill, factor in online, the increasing prices of peripheries, the online, the games, its not cheap.
Thatd be fine if it were the PS1/2 era where there were loads of system selling exclusives... but its not.
I dont know why we pretend the games arent shit. God of war was boring and generic, horizon in more ubislop, spiderman isnt a return to form its more modern game movieslop with boring combat. None of these games have SOUL they all feel like the kind of games you play, beat, and shelve forever. You wont be coming back every few years to replay them, because theyre so generic and iterative youve played them all before. The issue with movie games is even if theyre good, like say LOU1 (i dont even agree with this one) then you still only ever get one playthrough of value out of them
and even if you disagree, even if you LIKE all of this slop... its all on PC, where it is better.
PC is only slightly more expensive than console, and with the PS5 is cheaper as soon as you buy a PS5Pro or the next PS6, just ONE generation later and you made savings on PC.
The fucking 5Pro still has a shit CPU so wont hold up for long.
At least before, with exclusives, even if you disagree with the "theyre shit and have no soul" point you would have a reson to buy a console.
But no, PS5 has like 5 exclusive games, tops. For the asking price thats just bad value.
I didnt like the dudebro era of the 360/PS3 either but even so, the games were good for people and they were exclusive, giving the consoles value.
