Game's kino, but doing a mostly-non-lethal run and having to F5, F9 dozens of times per mission really makes this a drag. Story-wise, it's canon to play nonle which is why I did it, but for gameplay I'm sure it's better to go lethal.

Should I stick with nonle for the D2?

Sounds like you need to git gud and get caught less
Just blink and timestop, bro :^)

does it matter? none of the targets from 1 show up in 2 aside from daud and billie

even ignoring save scumming, non-lethal is just aggressively unfun in this game.

Blink is pretty overpowered, and for some reason you always 1 blinks worth of mana, so the gameplay is basically just
>blink
>wait
>blink
>wait
>blink
>choke out enemy
>blink

Same problem as most stealth games, really. The most fun parts are when you get caught, and end frantically trying to escape, but even if you get caught corvo is overpowered enough to actually hold his ground and kill everyone anyways.

Non-lethal is a lot more fun in Dishonored 2 than it is in 1. I think the game is just structured better for non-lethal, whereas 1 was the first game that hadn’t really found its way yet. Because of that, it just kinda goes all out and forgets its primarily a stealth game, whereas with 2 it finds a better middle ground that allows for more diverse, yet reliable playstyles.

Maybe I’m a psycho, but I really like the “sit and wait” style of stealth. Feels more real that way. That said, I tend to go no-powers even in D1, where its more pertinent to just sit around and wait for an opening.

D2 is better mechanically but the story is a lot more uninteresting

This. The game basically screams "LETHAL IS THE BAD ROUTE" in your face and then makes nonlethal tedious as shit to do (not to mention making you lose out on a bonus for getting spotted even once). You don't get to use half your arsenal either, while playing lethally lets you make use of everything. If the mana system worked differently, or if it wasn't so easy to get suddenly spotted, or if losing the guards once detected didn't take so goddamn long, maybe low chaos would be fun. As is the game literally and figuratively gives me a headache.

the game was made for multiple playthroughs, it doesn't matter what ending you go for

What game has the most fun non-lethal path? I think the early Splinter Cell games do a good job of non-lethal where you get a bunch of fun non-lethal gadgets

No it's not. It's canon to go Low Chaos, but Low Chaos doesn't mean Non-Lethal, not in the slighest. You just can't go on huge murder sprees. You can kill people, get caught, make a racket, whatever. As long as you're not stacking bodies like bills.

I dunno, this is only true because the Lethal Side has more of the gadgets and a lot of them are redundant. Two kinds of grenade, two kinds of bolts (and even then, fire bolts are arguably better as a distraction/shell killer), stuff like that. Not much of the cool powers are really Lethal-oriented either, just Devouring Swarm and a couple of passive upgrades. There's also Windblast, if you go out of your way to get the Lethal upgrade.

Plus you're conflating Non-Lethal with Ghost which is like, meh

This is what was great about Deathloop: they didn't let you savescum.

Literally me.
I tend to shy away from quicksaves too(unless I've accomplished a "major objective" I don't save) so it makes every time I get caught and either attempt a bold escape or die quickly because I'm on the hardest difficulty really mean something.

Shame that shit game had 4 levels.

Liked it till the Bridge level (I think 3rd level) when I realized the AI was always utterly shit
Pushed through it for 'le hecking party level is le kino'
it literally just is 'bro you don't need to get spotted after the first 30 seconds, now just watch the possible targets, okay you're done, you found the target, awesome ok level done aren't you a super duper spy'

I tried 2 but the AI was still shit
