i actually know how to do this, when you're within like 1/2 an hr of going to sleep but not falling asleep yet, just 'let go' of your mind. whatever thought you're in the middle of just drop it, just abandon it. you'll then feel the pressure to finish it 'no but just, i just...'. once you've identified that pressure, learn to ignore it. you can then unhook from the 'task' of being your inner agent and just not do anything. i don't want to write about the experience that follows because you'll try to aim/strive for it which is action and thus causes it not to happen. so just try it
