No, not really. I got more emotionally invested in Ace Combat 7 and Mihaly's side story about a man who only wanted to fly. To see him not only survive the dual with Trigger and be bedridden forever afterwards hurt. Better to have died, then live trapped in a prison of your own body, unable to experience the one thing that gave your life purpose.
