The Xenomorph as something religious or related to a higher being, like god would be neat. Basically, xenos are "angels" that create life on barren planets. We have this idea they are world destroyers when in fact they can bring life or are crucial to the existence of life on planets. Another interesting idea would be that xenomorph are not of this "world" they aren't even from this plane of existence.

It's pretty much clear the space jockeys were a subproduct of the xenomorphic race rather than the other way around. Mostly as guardians to a once flourishing alien god race that, for reasons unknown, went "silent"

Dan O bannon idea for the monster was that it was a very advanced alien civlization, very civilized with one issue, when it hatches, it goes through a feral state, much like a baby infant, and the whole issue was simply a misunderstanding of a pacific alien being mistaken for a dangerous species.
