>>717826914 Someone smart decided to put 600+ Watts of power through one cable instead of three and make it standard for all new Gaming GPUs going forward.
i have a cuck card (5070) and I undervolt it on top of that so it barely uses anything, like 150W maybe. I live in the extremely hot burger south I don't need anything heating up my office more than it already does.
>>717827117 the best part is connectors already exist to support these wattages and have been standard for like 100 years but they decided to design a worse one anyway.
>>717826721 (OP) >never ever ever fucking ever cheap out on PSU >never buy GPU from shitty chink brands like Inno or Palit >never use ANYTHING but the stock PSU cables >never have these problems It's that simple.
>>717827576 This is honestly the best gpu to buy right now.

>>717829025 >buying psu that was designed for high-end gpus consuming more power magically solves the high-end gpus comsuming more power Yes, that's how it works.
>>717829598 honestly playing exclusively retro games, romhacks, fan games, mods for retro games, etc. on some shitty laptop where you're hard capped from playing any triple A goyslop might be the most enlightened way to game these days.

>>717827576 >9070 more expensive than a 5070 >XT is same price as a TI It's like picking between two jewish sharks.
>>717829748 I just checked Newegg. The cheapfag model (msi shadow, zotac solid, gigabyte windforce, etc) 5070tis go for $800-1000
The top end 9070xt (sapphire nitro, asrock taichi, yeston atlantis, etc) go for $750-850

>>717826721 (OP) >>717827117 It's been proven to fail only if you don't insert the connector properly. Weak soi hands cannot insert the power cable to full length. And I've seen "pro pc builder" retards who advised to only connect one power supply cable instead of two, because "it will make gpu use less power". Obviously it only made gpu pull all required power through that single cable, failing miserably.
>>717828842 >never ever ever fucking ever cheap out on PSU If it ain't gold I ain't buying.

>>717830514 Itโs also very subject to physical wear with Nvidia rating the cable for 20 connect-disconnect cycles. It also has useless sensor pins that canโt actually tell if all pins are making proper contact. It has also a marginal safety factor when used on a 5090 at 600W. Itโs a bad and even dangerous product all around but dead GPUs are just another sale for Nvidia and the market is too cornered to take action. Truly the chinese century.

>>717826721 (OP) Why the fuck didn't they just add an extra port to the cards. Not like even more thickness would make a difference when I already had to rearrange my entire goddamn case anyways because the card was so fat and long that it displaced the bottom half of my storage drive stack.
