Needing to play stages 5 times each was another mistake. It was way too much padding without any substance.
Rewriting established characters like dingodile to be worse is another mistake. Only Cortex really felt like himself.
Entire game should have been the flashback tapes in quality, they were the only stages a crash fan should care about.
Changing the crash dash into a ctr boost doesn't feel good in a platformer and they should have never went forward with that.
