I don't understand the complaints about not being OLED. If you buy a laptop right now you'll notice there are almost no OLED options. The ones that are, are crazy overpriced. You're paying 200-300 dollars more at least. OLED is still a very niche technology, it's absolutely not the standard. Steam deck has OLED but it's also only a 900p screen and they're probably selling the thing at a solid loss. A 1080p OLED handheld is gonna be 800 dollars minimum, probably 900.

I like how in mobile mode the device itself isn't physically warm/hot and the fan is never obnoxiously loud. Even if battery is so so on switch 2 titles, I did get like 4+ while playing OOT on the classics, just to test. Full brightness as well.

The only thing I can criticize the Switch 2 is the screen. It should be an OLED at that Price. They compromised the integrity of the device with that. Because it isn't OLED the battery drains like a motherfucker. I have the device and I like the size of it but the screen is a big issue. While it's an HDR screen which is great but I feel they should have gone for an OLED. Hell just do what Valve did, release two skus. A cheap one with an LCD and an OLED premium one. I probably would get an OLED Switch 2 down the like and sell my older LCD Switch 2 but still.

It's still actively cooled but in handheld it's very quiet, I can't hear the fan at all, unlike the Steamdeck which has a very noisy fan. It runs at like 8.6w on battery so it doesn't generate much heat. Nintendo should have pushed for a bigger battery, even if they only went for like 38wh they could have really shit on the Steamdeck and most other x86 handheld PC's.

It's absolutely insane that they started off the generation with not one but THREE showcases that weren't about new first-party games. I think they shot themselves in the foot by fluffing their library with WiiU ports so heavily last gen, because they got extremely used to that but now can't pull the same trick this time to fill voids in the Switch 2's release schedule (which will be nastier and more pronounced with even them not being immune to ballooning devtimes) thanks to backwards compatibility.
