This is a bit lengthy, but hear me out:
YouTubers have ruined gaming's morale. It's very difficult to create a review video that's objective, engaging, and fair.
It's much easier to create videos that are negative, since it's easier to complain about the features that a game DOESN'T have, than it is to take the time to examine the features and positive gameplay aspects that a game DOES have.
This is exacerbated by the need to be "first" on YouTube for more views.
Also, a lot of gamers are straight up incapable of thinking for themselves and having their own opinion. This is exacerbated by reddit's upvote/downvote psyop.
There is a period of time for games:
>Brand New Phase
The game might be buggy. But it is super hyped, and any reviews will be positive to flow with the algorithm
>Stable Phase
Bugs have been fixed. The game is solid now. Despite this being the best time to play, negative reviews will start coming in.
>Established Phase
This is where a major YouTuber can literally destroy a game. Lonely faggots have 100%'d the game and are now whining about 'lack of updates/content' (despite regular, sexually active gamers still being satisfied and working through the content). The games Steam reviews are now 'Mostly Positive'.
>Smeared Phase
YouTubers can now easily shit on the game and make low effort videos that play on negativity to get free clicks. Depending on how much traction a review gets, the game might literally be abandoned by simple minded faggots who can't think for themselves. The Steam reviews are now "Mixed". This phase doesn't always happen, but it's extremely common now.
Basically, reddit and faggot youtubers is the cause of many more problems in the gaming community than people are willing to admit.
I don't know why people aren't talking about this more.
