It's pretty good but my problems are
>The new gimick of upgrading weapons/runes and just pick what builds you want to make around them doesn't quite work because you still unlock weapons and runes linearly so you sorta feel railroaded to invest on the early gunes/runes you have had for a while and already upgraded instead of the new stuff thus being counter-intuitive to the "play your way" style meant to doffer from Eternal
>Removing Glory Kills to speed up gameplay, just to make all parries and melee hits be slow-mo, was stupidily counter intuitive to a point the schizo in me theorizes that the lack of Glory Kills wasn't a gameplay/mechanical decision but rather ID ran out of time and budget to animate Glory Kills and just said it was intentional to save face. Yes, I know they updated to remove it but it's dumb that it was there from the start
>Weapon Switch Speed was obnoxiously slow at launch and now it's... just still a bit too slow but not painfully so
>Dragon was wasted potential. The actual flying around and exploration is fun but the actual combat is just boring Simon Says bullshit that isn't fun. I don't want to dismiss the idea entirely, I can see this being fun, but only if they cut it with the dodge bullshit and be more of a traditional flying combat mechanics
>Mech levels have zero good qualitites and nothing short of removing them entierly can salvage them
In the end I still prefer Eternal and not just cause I vibed with Eternal's gameplay better but Eternal was just more well thought out in what it wanted to achieve. The Dark Ages wanted to be a lateral progression of quality from Eternal. Thast makes sense since Eternal, as much as I love it, was bloated and sorta hit a ceiling by the time TAG Part 1 was released.
But even so, the game still just sorta fucked up some aspects of its core design that is either not fully thought out or shit that are just fundamentally bad ideas.
