Anyone remember Brink? What exactly went wrong with it?

Same issue as it ever was, late to the party in an oversaturated market.

Garbage game
Lame parkour (in the early 10s, the train has sailed already)

no server browser

jumped on the games as service train while people still actually expected lobbies and player hosted servers
made you play with shitty bots while waiting to matchmake instead of letting you browse a server list

Dirty Bomb is great.

cool setting and art direction, played like a shitty tf2 clone

Mediocre game that was completely broken when it launched. The matchmaking didn't even work properly for months so at best you could play coop with your friends against some of the dumbest AI bots of all time.

You were all hyping this game up as the next COD killer before it came out, lmao.

it sucked too much
i know too many people who bought this game full price when it came out and were disappointed
its a shame because there was no grind for weapons/attachments and the artstyle was cool

Kinda bad balance wise and terrible technical issues on release (ran like shit, the Splash Damage certified stutters, not great netcode).
t. bought it on release, spent 50hrs on it before giving up

Dirty Bomb was a MASSIVE improvement, it's a shame the business model was kinda ass and also suffered from some of the same technical issues (stuttering).
t. 100+ hrs on it, mained Fletcher, Rhino, CHADhammer and Sawbonez.

I kinda miss it, probably due to nostalgia glasses.

Kinda sad that Splash Damage is functionally dead, I really wanted them to make other class based shooters but looks like they just decided to throw in the towel. I also believe a modern take on the ET:QW with its mix of Battlefield and RTS could've been big when BF was shitting itself (see Battlebit's massive success).
