This is what happened to Blizzard, went from 20-40 dudes in an office playing D&D drinking and programming games who were having so much fun they were litterally living at work and fucking their GFs in their cars in the blizzard parking lot, to 500 DEI wagies who complain to HR when the director talks too loud, or has a panic attack whenever they're expected to fulfil their job tasks instead of drawing low tier furry art all day.

The lawsuits pretty clearly lay it all out, it went from a creative space where a bunch of nerds made bank being nerds to a corporate asset farm.

Team A stopped working on World of Warcraft when WOTLK launched and left a bunch of interns in charge

It was pretty much a double whammy of putting people utterly void of creativity and ability to make new things like Ion Hozzikotas and Ghostcrawler in charge of the game who were more obsessed with spreadsheet balance than actual fun, coupled with a bunch of HR Karens stifling all creativity creating a hostile workplace for creatives. By the time Overwatch launched there was no saving blizzard.
