>Over a million active players in 2025
>No discussion on /v/
Why?
Anonymous No.717859158
/v/ started hating it when it got popular. It isn't as popular anymore but the seed has already been planted

/v/ doesn't discuss videogames, if you discuss a videogame that means you're a paid shill

>Things I like
Doing good on the song
>Things I hate
When I don't do good on the song

What is there to talk about? It's a straightforward concept.

It's a rhythm game. What's there to discuss? I guess you could argue Project Diva threads exist but those are mostly talking about the vocaloids, plus having a fixed selection of songs makes it easier to discuss than a community game with a million different maps

it's all russians and asians playing it
I played it for awhile, but tablet gaming is cringe and you're just handicapping yourself if you don't use it.

I got over my rhythm game phase

The only upside is that it's free. Mania, and Taiko are just worse versions of existing games. The main game uses drawing tablet or mouse control as the main way to play, which imo never felt good to play.
If you have an arcade nearby, or can spend at least 200$ for a controller, there are no reasons not to play other rhythm games.
Go play Bemani games, Maimai, Chunithm, Groove Coaster, whatever you can find that is not a mobile game or OSU.

Who?
Anonymous No.717861102
I've never played it and hate it simply because of comments on eroge openings always going "dude this song is so hard on osu, that part at :50 is so difficult ;_;"
But really this is my problem with rhythm gamers in general, their autism for charts bears zero love for music as a medium, or the material which the music comes from.

I played Osu A LOT when I was 17-24. Was top 20 in my country. But I had to drop it because it required constant practice and too much time. And I am not having "fun" if I'm not improving and chasing that pp so I quit for good.
31 now btw

It's popular since 2012. Nothing to say about it other than the big update in 2015-2016.

the russians are the fucking worst in multi, they always queue up the most garbage graveyard phonkshit imaginable, shittiest map accompanied by the shittiest song, always.

>arcade style rhythm game
>higher difficulties are just technical mashing that sometimes matches up with the music

The gameplay has never interested me and it's more than obvious that the higher difficulties are nothing but notespam with no semblance of rhythm whatsoever. There are so many better rhythm games out there and being free is not a selling point for me at all.

I played for a bit, got in the top 30k, then realized my fingers and wrists were killing me. Shit's basically carpal tunnel syndrome simulator so I had to quit.

the only thing to really discuss is how people think Osu is the original and know nothing about Elite Beat Agents
