I still think BotW and TotK need to be a trilogy.
And I like the idea of the same map being adjusted and covered with water a-la Wind Waker, and leaning into sea exploration with a boat.
Maybe even the central hub of TotK in Hyrule Field, turn that concept into a boat you can pilot around.
Add in swimming/underwater exploration like in Ocarina.
Gameplay-wise I liked TotK a lot, but story-wise I thought BotW was more cozy and pure feeling.
So I'd also work in an element where the TotK world and the BotW world are basically two overlapping timelines. Time travel fuckery (also to explain why the Ancient Sheikah ruins from BotW disappear and are replaced with the Zonai ruins in TotK). So both BotW and the TotK world co-exist and neither are "the true timeline" - third game is about creating a synthesis of the two.
And then go in a bit more on nostalgia, at least gameplay-wise. Have Link get classic items like the hookshot, lock-on boomerang from WW, have the level design be tighter - where each island on the map is a tighter challenge area (they kinda did this already with the Sky Islands).
One final effort. One more ultimate BotW/TotK game that hones in and refines it all even further.
There's a ton of shitposting around these games, especially TotK, but the truth is they are really great.
