This now makes his obsession with turning Japanese all the more sense to me; it's a contingency. Granted, this shit is nowhere near his entire English fanbase denouncing him, calling him a nazi, retrekking through Undertale and Deltarune and miraculously finding "hidden nazi dogwhistles", or the ADL making Megalovania a homophobia anthem due to its association with homophobic Andonuts and Catholicism. But he knows that somewhere down the line - at SOME point in his career - something along those lines will unavoidably happen and there will be nothing that he could ever do about it.
UT/DR's Japanese following is the greatest thing he could ever ask for. Both for the honor of having the country whose games inspired him like his content back, but also because it gives him a fallback. UT/DR is niche in the English-speaking world, but it's practically mainstream in Japan, and they actually play the damn games instead of getting it secondhand from fan media and e-celeb playthroughs. That explains his appearances of him using the Annoying Dog like Yoko Taro's mask, all the ZUN and vtuber collabs, all his spoken appearances being in Japanese, and the official JP translations of UT/DR at the beginning.
It won't matter if his English fanbase of faggots turns on him; he'll always have the Japanese fanbase (and the few remaining EN fans who don't care about it all). He already gave them the TL;DR in 2008: "Eat shit, faggots".
Still don't know why he still wants to work with Hussie. The guy really is a hack and a flat-out, genuine piece of shit.
