From the perspective of the American Empire
First big decline would have been the oil crash in '74 dethroning american oil,
next would be Regan breaking workers rights over his knee in '81 by showing he can dissolve unions at any time.
then the death kneel was Clinton bringing in NAFTA in '94 and leading to the decoupling of Administrative and operational capacities of corporations which would enable easy offshoring. Everything after was just the corpse tremors.

Did you guys ever try any of those "Enhanced CD" things where a music disc would have something extra on PC? I had a Saliva (band) CD that had the demo to Warcraft 3. Weird fucking way to get introduced to Warcraft, but I played that shit for hours. I don't remember anything about the band, but I vividly remembered the free demo.

food prices were rising even before the fat piece of shit

The culture we were raised on wasn't sustainable and simply lured us in by selling at a loss, we fell for the long con, once they bought up or killed the competition and were the only ones left standing with a loyal consumerbase, there was no longer a need to sell at a loss.

Because single companies own almost literally every food brand there is they can monopolize shit as much as they want, and during war times those prices will continue to hike up so they can continue funneling money into bombing the shit out of the middle east.

In its current state, Amtrak long distance travel isn't about speed or convenience.
Outside of the North East Corridor (DC to NYC to Boston), taking the train is about the journey and the views along the way.
The trips are really enjoyable unless you get coach class seats. If you take coach, they won't even let you in to the diner car and you'll be stuck listening to crying Amish babies the entire trip.
8/10 would recommend unless you're poor.
