What's the problem? Does Retroarch not recognize it?

it recognizes it but keeps putting it in port 4 whenever you start a game even if you change it beforehand

love this little guy
I feel you OP, getting this thing to work on retroarch is an insurmountable amount of work, an anon gave me the idea of having 2 retroarchs where one is mapped to 6 buttons and the other to regular controller and that's the best solution I found, I have since completely ditched retro arch however and never touched it since but it worked for me for a while

I'd rather have the other two buttons added to the shoulders, there's enough face buttons as is.

I've been using this and have zero complaints, anything genesis/sega cd/saturn is great on this

I wish there was a pad similar to a snes pad without the sticks that didn't suck ass like the genesis and saturn ones

How's Elves? I like how it looks, but I've heard mixed opinions on it.

Solid overall. Highly responsive both wired and wireless, both xinput and switch. First membrane d-pad I've had zero complaints with in a modern controller. Fits in a pocket. Stick tension's surprisingly high, but they seem good in other regards so I suspect that'll only require getting used to it. Only complaint so far is the Bluetooth range is awful, so if you want to do something like stream to a device in a different room you won't be able to pair the Elves 2 directly to the PC.
Also note that this is the regular Elves 2, Elves 2 Pro is the mixed one. Costs twice as much, uses a much worse chipset that shits itself over Bluetooth and isn't fully stable wired either.

>Elves 2, Elves 2 Pro
I think the feedback I've heard of is for Pro, so I'll probably get the basic one eventually. Hopefully it's not too small for my hands.

Do you have any other controllers connected? Retroarch does something like this to me on my steam deck when it's docked. It always defaults to the deck's on board controller and I have to manually swap it

Retrobit has dogshit quality control. I bought a bluetooth Saturn controller that's perfect. I liked it so much, I bought a white one and it feels like a dollar store toy. Shitty, cheap plastic and rattles louder than a fucking macarena

For reference, Pro has this macro button, regular Elves 2 doesn't. Listings are kind of confusing since they released the Pro first, and have three black palettes between the two.
It's Saturn sized. Big or small, your hands are going to touch.

why do contrarian chuds insist on using slop controllers instead of just using name brand based controllers like Dual Sense, Xbox, and Nintendo Pro?
Anonymous No.717874085
>>717873709
I use Dualsense too, but it's not as portable and the d-pad's mediocre.

Because those controllers are overpriced and suffer from drift. Third party chink controller are actually good now and use better analog sticks

Got an Elves 2 non-Pro yesterday since it's $24 right now. My only size complaint is my fingertips overshoot the L and R buttons. They should have made the top wider or the buttons longer. The d-pad and buttons feel great otherwise.
The specs are impressive. If Gamepadla is to be trusted it's the #1 fastest Bluetooth controller on the market. It's pretty confusing that a non-Pro was released a month after the Pro and it's also better than the Pro in some ways.

I ordered one cause I saw that same deal, too. Excited to try it out tomorrow on me MiSTer since it looks like just what I want out of a controller.
Anonymous No.717878617
>>717877374
I think most of gamepadla's kinks are worked out at this point, I trust the numbers. Turns out 730Hz Bluetooth (higher than Dualsense Edge, which is significantly better than any other non-Sony controller) combined with no stick filtering or other bullshit bogging the processor down makes for a responsive controller.
Does make me wonder what changed at Gulikit for this controller to happen though. They've had a consistent track record of godawful latency, even on 1000Hz controllers.

Wouldn't make a difference if you were 30 or 300lbs if your thumbs are positioned on top of the caps where they should be. If the sticks are that close together, either they need to be spaced further apart or the stems need to be shorter. Retro-bit opted for the latter by using joycon sticks for the real release.
