Consoles are supposed to be the cheap alternative to PC gaming.

Exclusivity is always bad, hardware developers should be competing for the best specs for the best prices. If the console developer also makes first party games for said console, they are also incentivized to make them as good as possible.

Both Snoy and Microshaft are fucking up hard, they're both buying out studios for exclusivity deals, but in doing so all they're really doing is giving the studio executives a big fat paycheck and every incentive to jump ship as soon as they're contractually allowed to

Microshaft bought modern Bethesda and Blizzard, who have long since canibalized all their creative talent and replaced them with interns and contractors, and Snoy straight up got scammed by Bungie for Destiny 2, a dogshit game at the end of its lifecycle, and Marathon, a game that spent more time and money on ARG marketing campaigns and cinematics than making an actual video game

In-house exclusives are fine, console producers should support their product, buying any degree of exclusivity is scummy and going multiplat only shows that there was no reason to do so

No they're fucking not.
Consoles are garbage and them having exclusives makes people unable to enjoy games unless they pay extra to get a console, which is bad for consumers and game preservation. On the other hand, since all consoles suck ass and cost more than they worth, the only thing making them worthwhile are their exclusives. Nintendo sucks, but they at least have the bing bing wahoo man. Xbox sucks, but they no longer have any exclusives, so there's no need to ever play their games on anything but PC.
