Its a very niche type of game, and Fast isnt a good copy of it.

Anon, please understand that the game in the OP is more like Wipeout than F-Zero. Everyone seems to make Wipeout clones rather than F-Zero clones. Only F-Zero GX is as fast as F-Zero GX, no other game, Wipeout and it's clones included, come close.

f-zero is arcadey and has very precise controls, but is also actually fast as fucking shit and has a laundry list of advanced techniques to go faster that are actually extremely difficult to execute

fast fusion also has precise controls but the vehicles feel a lot more weightless than f zero and it doesn't have any of the autistic tech, the focus of the game is different since to go as fast as possible you basically need to be collecting pickups to fill your boost meter and be boosting nonstop the entire race, death also isn't an instant loss like in f zero besides the one mode that is more like fzero where the regular boost pads also increase your boost and your boost is tied to your health, both things present in fzero

It's a fun game, but not F zero, hero mode kinda resembles F zero but the whole game is not like that. F zero is about killing your rivals, brutally surviving laps by the skin of your teeth, and one life and you're out. This is nothing like that and it also is nowhere near as fast as frantic as F zero.

There is no F zero but F zero.

Wipeout is much faster and has an actual unlimited speed mode, on top of having actual track complexity. All I've seen f-zero was in fact just going in straight lines with occasional bends

On ps3? I'm not sure, they may be issues. I know you can emulate the vita wipeout which is both a sequel and contains most of if not all the content from HD/fury. Its almost completely playable on the steamdeck so if you have any kind of gaming pc it'll run.

That applies to every wipeout game and ballisticNG, its just they dont feel like very slow molasses shit for a significant portion of the game. The appeal of wipeout is it has a tactile physics system which they completely fucked in HD, 2048 still feels kind of simple but at least its fast and responsive.
