I missed out entirely on the mountain path on my first run. When I traversed it on my 2nd I was completely stunned and had my breath stolen. Place is fucking amazing, definition of adventure. Wish it was a bit longer though, it's very short (but has its unique quirks) compared to the underground.

There's a Blue Jay in the Monastery Trail who's whining about how Giant Eagles took his nest and there's nobody to keep them in check. Agreeing to help gives you a quest to kill the said Eagles, which only nets you some absolute shit-tier reward in form a buried treasure that you can find anyway. But the catch here is that nothing underpins the Blue Jay's story. I realized this when I first climbed up there and saw the xboxhueg birds and their even bigger nests. Furthermore, exhausting all dialogue options with the Blue Jay makes the situation more suspicious.

In one dialogue branch he admits how the top of the Monastery is the best place for a nest in the area, while in the other he confesses how he stole his current nest too. In other word, the little shit is just probably using you to get prime real estate. And I bet 95% of the players did his quest without a second thought! Even if you just think through the situation: you're killing a majestic Ancient Giant Eagle and his off-spring just b/c a tiny bird with 2 INT asked you to do so. I fully believe that the point of this quest was to (rightfully) make a mockery of your average RPG player.

Unmodded Skyrim is also retarded because if you go north from said tundra you will find forests full of tall, fully-grown trees there.
Would be cool if instead northern Skyrim was more like northern Siberia.
Some indigenous tribes there are fucking insane. They managed to survive in climate where temperature goes down to -60C or lower, while not having access to wood - the closest tree is several hundred kilometers to the south from them.
So whatever fuel they managed to gather would be saved for special occasions, and fire was a rare luxury.

Imagine living like this, in that terrible cold, with the only source of heat you can rely upon being your own body, having to preserve every little bit it produces.

The capture scenes were genuinely retarded because there isn't much reason for your character to NOT be killed in most of them other than giving you a direct scenes with Sneed who refuses to kill you for some reason. The brainwashing ones were the only time it ever made sense, the bliss ones only highlight how bullshit bliss is.

I think it would've made more sense if the FC5 protagonist was actually an immediate relative of Joseph or just straight up his child and it would've made the interactions with him less weird.
