What happened to anime games? They're all gacha or jRPGs now

Most anime games have always been JRPGs or VNs, with some fighting games sprinkled in. Nothing's changed except there are more Gachas.

Japanese devlopers are only capable of creating games in a single genre.
Right now it's either Soulslop third person action game or gacha.

Japan gave in. I remember seeing so many nips being impressed by Chinese 3D gacha like Genshin just because there's not enough anime games out there for them (purely anecdotal on my part though). Also it's where I think Type-Moon fumbled the ball by not properly cashing in on FGO at its peak with a proper 3D game.
