This is why AI won't be going anywhere for a very long time. The people coding and making it will have their own set filters that ideally it'd be better to just learn how to do it yourself.

Yes, but not by this specific retarded technique that is basically the solar roadways of AI game generation.
What we will have will be either AI generating 3D assets and running on a regular engine, or a 3D engine generating a extremely complex control net that gets fed to an AI trained specifically into filling that picture with the art style you want in realtime.
Or one that gets shit PS2 like graphics and re-art it into the style you want*
*Realistic,anime etc etc etc..
What is effectively screen space gaming is retarded, and anything that require a server is retarded.

What I want is a normally coded RPG game where every NPC has an AI and can learn from its experience and background.
So if you kill an NPC, maybe his son will train to get stronger in order to defeat you or try to ruse and get you through trickery (basically what a real person would do)

I think OP was trying to sway people to his corner by posting titillating material and then saying โ€œI hate porn!โ€ in an attempt to get people to call him gay. What he didnโ€™t anticipate was that his porn was so repulsive that literally no one fell for the trick.

Basically, what Iโ€™m saying is that OP == faggot

I've always thought of this idea of "Playing made up video game as you go" is dumb. I don't think the idea of an A.I. making vidya is dumb, just that it "steaming" the game as you go is dumb.

I this A.I. stuff is going to crash, once people with money just start realizing how dumb some of this shit is, just like the internet bubble, and all the dumb ideas are going to die (Assuming the gov doesn't step in to bail them out because muh china) and it's going to recover in like 4 years after the fact stronger than ever.

If the government does step in, well, guess were getting idiocracy levels of A.I. for a LONG time.

Technically it's the customer making these decisions (google, facebook, etc.) so it's on them. I'm sure everyone actually involved is the worst kind of California retard.
>>717887205
I look at training data and tag or evaluate it. Sometimes I'm looking at AI output and rating it depending on whatever criteria the customer is looking for, other times I'm looking at other stuff. Right now I'm working on a project where we're collecting voice samples from people around the world. Right now the bulk of my day involves listening to some contractor from some random country, making sure they accurately transcribed what they said, making sure they accurately described the background noise, determining whether or not they sound natural (reading is a no-no), and categorizing their clip (for example Questions/Engineering, Discussions/Philosophy, etc.) There's some other administrative work and answering questions etc but most of it is just data entry.
On other projects I've seen actual chatlogs of what people are talking about with AI with names redacted. GPT and other chatbots are like catnip for schizos.

An LLM wouldnt have that information in the first place and it probably varies wildly from company to company, but at my company at least the training data goes through a few steps depending on what kind it is
>Grunt feeds prompt to 2+ different models, decides which one is better, evaluates it based on a rubric, writes a short justification for why it's better
>Reviewer 1 checks the Grunt's work, either rejects it or sends it on to the next level
>Reviewer 2 checks Reviewer 1's work, either rejects it or sends it to the next level
>Quality Control checks Reviewer 2's work, either rejects it or approves it to send to the customer
So at least 4 people are getting paid. On complex projects this can mean like 4+ man hours of work for 1 piece of training data. Also because of how important quality is they only hire actual native English speakers for most grunt roles, which means you're paying American, UK, Irish, Australian, or NZ wages to everyone involved. It's really expensive and LLMs are still kinda shit (they can do some impressive stuff though)

Because of the generative models work now, they can't really innovate beyond their training data, notice how every game could be the same game with a different skin?
At the same time it will allow for extremely fast development, which means that not using it would put you far behind everyone else, who's going to bite the bullet and learn actual development skills and try to innovate when the instant you create anything it gets fed into the training data and a million copies and variations come out decreasing its value?

I've tried to use it for cooming, but it's so fucking garbage.

Fine for time wasting, I can jerk off to it for an hour or two and it's mildly appealing, but when I want to finish I go load up real content. It's background material to get me in the mood.

You never hit that moment where you're pleased by it. You just tardwrangle it into the kind of story you want, it constantly tries to flee because it can't handle basic logic (it's completely brainless), and you leave bored. It really blows my mind that people are paying subscription fees for chatbots, the art stuff I can at least slightly understand even if it's almost all garbage.

I don't want to be vindicated about this stuff. Something so devoid of passion that people stop caring about these things, but it's very obvious this isn't going away. They're investing trillions in it, but the reality is that they still need to find people willing to buy it.

Companies will absolutely fall for the hype and try and get this shit to replace personnel, and AI companies will cut costs to nothing in the attempt to become the last loss leader standing.

I think we're going to see a complete market implosion within the next few years, because the whole thing is a total pipe dream. Consumer apathy is going to kill a lot of projects and we're heading for another worldwide recession on a whole new level, anyone who doesn't have a year's worth of food stockpiled, the fuel to prepare it, and the people to defend it, is going to starve to death. Banks lending money to retards caused the 2008 recession we've never recovered from, and banks/governments lending money to literal snake oil merchants are going to crash the world economy because it's too big of an arms race to "lose", even though there's no way to win.

There 100% will be a bubble burst, but that doesn't mean AI will vanish, any more than the dot com bubble bursting meant the internet went away. It's just the absurd amount of spending on AI right now by all these startups and big companies alike will eventually "burst" and many of them will go belly up. The technology will continue but many of the idiots who think they're cashing in on right now will not be the ones who ultimately get rich off it.

It really depends on how the audience responds to it. We're already seeing a lot of hatred for AI slop online, I could easily see people going "that movie has AI? I'm not watching it then".

AI would need a Toy Story style success story to be tolerated, I'm not writing it off, but I think it'll probably only ever achieve success as background replacement, it's very much in the uncanny valley.

AI can't even play a gameboy JRPG for kids right
And you don't need AIslop to make good AI. Consider checking out AI War, it's a real time strategy game that got renowned for having well-designed AI that can actually make smart decisions, counter your strategies and find weaknesses in your defence
>capture a sector with a structure that gives me access to a new unit type (can't replace the structure, if it gets blown up I lose it together with the unit design)
>put a shield on it with some turrets
>look elsewhere for a moment
>it gets blown up off-screen without warning
>wait what
>load game and pay attention to that sector this time
>AI quietly sends in a fast battleship that can bypass shields, it ignores everything and goes straight for the fragile irreplaceable structure
>blows it up instantly
That's something that burned itself into my memory because it was the first time I saw AI own be with a smart, human-like move in a videogame

Black Death, Columbus, Napoleon, Titanic. I'd play those.
Titanic looks the worse while the Napoleon one is so good, I'd think it looked like real gameplay.

People are developing a strangely irrational aversion to AI. These videos are perfectly fine as demonstrations and proof-of-concept. I mean, look at the one where the subhuman runs out into the beach and the ships are right there, that shit is cinematic as fuck.

NFTs died after less than a year, how you can even compare the two is beyond me.

Crypto is just digital currency, and one that made every early adopter infinitely richer than they could ever be. $1 worth of an entire Bitcoin in 2010 is now worth roughly $80,000. If you spent $12.50 on Bitcoin 15 years ago, you'd quite literally be a millionaire now. It kinda goes beyond being a fad when there are very visible economic boons to something that's been going on for nearly two decades.

those arent showing games, or gameplay
its a video
>whats the difference
the difference is, if you could "play" that, spinning in a 360 circle would fuck up the image and change the whole render
theyre not showing you a snippet of an AI game, theyre showing you a video pretending to be a clip from a game.
you cant play them, and wont ever be able to.

although it would make a great game for a protagonist with schizophrenia or insanity, every time you turn around the world is different or fucked up, faces change, windows become doors etc

It's not about helping gaming, it's about being able to mass manufacture products without having to rely on much labour of any kind. Media production such as movies will be reduced down to a handful of people, a writer, a director, a lead audio, and the rest just check every frame for hallucinations and errors.

Pick your poison, anon. Do you want AI, or do you want the endless biomass known as India? There's no other choice.

You could make a deep movie game about barely surviving an explosion and seeing the aftermath, burn victims, dead people, and a burnt to the ground city. I guess it would be pretty linear and more of an art project than an actual game. The main plot would condemn what the US did to Japan. However, no one would make it nowadays because america can't do anything wrong. Yet, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are among the worst war crime atrocities in recent history

Everyone is focusing on the wrong thing when it comes to the intersection of videogames and AI.

AI should not be making the games, but it should be an integral part of them. Think LLM-powered NPCs you can have actual conversations with, enemies that are much more intelligent than current rudimentary AI is capable of and procedural narratives that actually make sense and have continuity instead of being composed of pre-generated chunks.

Nah. Except I responded to giving NPCs better AI part.
LLM hallucinated narratives would be a fucking disaster because of inconsistency, memory limits, repeated idiosyncrasies or -isms etc. I've done LLM powered roleplay for years and it needs a lot of handholding, retries, guardrails, steering. No way it would work for an actual game, it would veer way too far into schizophrenia.

Also, this doesn't guarantee that what randomly generated shit you get is going to be GOOD. It has "infinite potential" for sure, but most of that won't be GOOD.

And it will stay like that. Or maybe you can make the Milo tech demo real, the tech for that is almost there if you make a full stack of LLM + text to speech + some plugin to connect it to vtuber software.
Except it couldn't be a commercial product because the prompts would be immediately hijacked to make him explain how much he loves BBC and the Holocaust was a hoax.

So let me get this straight, from your post and others ITT.
It's all about consume product. Doesn't matter about the quality since I guess the idea here is that you churn out one after the other and hope at least one is decent. Doesn't matter at what "cost" it comes, what we lose for it, what changes.
You're just dreaming of that ideal of sitting on your chair getting fat going
>hm make me uhhhh...
waiting for a while and you get something, idealistically it being that perfect video game or porn or whatever you want, and if it doesn't generate exactly what you want you just do it again and again. Will it be able to actually do that, you don't know, that's what you dream about right now. You hope it is. It must be able to... eventually cause AI is almost like magic.

While I guess I may come out as slightly antagonistic there excuse me for that, am I correct in that assumption?

Why do you think majority of the work has been outsourced to 3rd world countries? Because that work is so simple even barely sentient pajeet can do it. These are the jobs that are trivial for AI to automate, and AI doesnt ask for breaks or pay, works 24/7 and will never unionize. We'll see effects in 1st world countries too, since not all monkey-work can be outsourced. After that the leap to mid-complexity jobs isnt impossible. Being able to kick out 90% of your staff is such a major temptation that companies will pour money into AI until it happens.

radiation didnt kill anyone really
i dont remember exactly but i think it made it so hot that most of the water evaporated and then rained down as toxic waste (i guess that counts as a radiation death if you drank it)
it also made the rivers boiling hot so that the people jumping in melted
but plenty of people survived and one guy survived a second nuke

so the game would probably be about not dying of dehydration while avoiding the all sources of water because it will kill you

Just a tangent, but people dont actually want smarter AI for enemies. This has been researched a dozen times. Enemies that flank, flush you out effectively, work as a team and so on are felt unfair and unfun to fight against.
And even PvP-oriented players hate fighting smart player IF they know its a bot. Losing to player is fine. Losing to AI they think is a player is fine. But losing to AI they know is a bot makes even PvP people fume. No idea why though.

Funny you should bring up India, because it "automates" the same way Indian outsourcing "produced." Instead of a team of programmers locally sourced they tried to replace them with Indians. This did not work. In order to save face they would then hire an extremely highly paid westerner to rescue the Indian fail boat who would probably have carried the whole project without India if you let him. Net cost reduction for the company was zero or less than zero, but the face was saved so it persists despite being the literal worst model ever. We are repeating this bullshit but with AI instead. Idiots try to replace team with AI, it doesn't work, they then try and use highly skilled individuals to rescue AI bullshit, but AI bullshit is so hard to work with you wind up having to pay for someone who was capable of carrying the whole project on their own anyway. Net cost savings zero.

LLMs work best when specialised. The broader the data you train them on the less focussed they are and fall off into the weeds on prompts far more often. You can take a broad model and tie it down with loras but that again is the original problem: you can have nice images with bad text or good text with bad images. The closest we can get is stacking multiple generations with multiple models/loras with manual inpainting. And again we're wandering down the path of more manual labor to fix what was supposed to be an automated time saver.

Stating the fact of the matter is not agreeing with it. This is such a common mental trap that many /v/tards fall into.

It's very obvious to anybody with their toes in the water that AI isn't going away, and that it's going to completely take over all forms of media production.

Then once you know how it works you know to either just sit with your weapon drawn waiting for it to run up to you or you just run as fast as possible so it can't keep up. Both of which get really boring when you are doing it for every enemy.
I'm fine playing with real people, i'd be fine if the AI actually played like a person instead of having god-like knowledge of the environment and game state to hide the fact it isn't really looking at the world or having to think about anything. They should have no information a player wouldn't have especially on things happening out of their line of sight.
In a lot of games they don't even actually simulate the running, they just have them teleport around where you can't see them.

No doubt the few clips we are seeing are the best of the best out of thousands of tries and they can't even make those more than a few seconds before cutting the part where they take a shit.
It's like AI dungeon where even if they release it, it will be a cool novelty for a couple hours before you realize there is nothing to actually do and everything feels very fake and forced. Maybe it could be used for porn but then you could just regular video generation.

No, the Pajeet using it to produce deep fake porn is not who will be swinging the industry's future. If we're going to keep doing this where anything used by Indians is inherently "Indian" then you need to give up the internet, or Steam, or TV, because Indians outnumber us 10:1 in all of this shit. Here's a problem, none of these are video games. It's five seconds of walking forward with the same realistic style. There's no actual game being generated here. Nothing for players to play. And how many servers did it require to generate this five seconds of nothing you can't play?

If AI is "the future" of games, it won't be in generated videos. It might be for generating some aspects of development like assets or code, but just "press button and here is game" is nonsense.

Anyone who thinks AI is not the next big thing is only focusing on one field. There's so much shit that AI has enabled all across the board that calling it anything but revolutionary is downright retarded.

Of course, if you only look at what it has achieved in the entertainment sphere, where probably the least amount of R&D is happening, then no wonder you have a negative image of AI.

The overall direction of our civilization is chronically suicidal, social media adoption being very obvious to more and more people nowadays. If AI results in the system being able to more accurately surveil more people like you and me more efficiently and at greater volumes, then AI clearly represents more control for the system and less privacy and agency for us. The game should have tools for the healer to defend themselves or for the rest of the party to pull aggro via taunts, taking on the healer's guise to confuse the enemy, etc.

I'm not into this sunk cost mindset. Sure, there's plastic in your balls, but that doesn't mean you should just not think about reducing it in the future. You might think it can't get worse but I consider myself more open minded to the possibilities. This moment right now is likely the most free you will ever be for the rest of your life just because it's constantly being chipped away whether you're complicit in it or not.
It's really beneath us to be having a conversation on whether we should be celebrating or resisting that process. The answer's obvious to anyone lacking the suicidal ideations.

its been tried a few times and the reason it doesn't work is because of how physically blocking the mob/boss from being able to attack the healer doesn't work when there's any latency, so the only way to implement a system like that was to kite the boss around.

What you are describing is actual video game AI.
Most modern AI is just capable of generating media or text by predicting things based on stuff it googled as the most common thing in the context you gave it.
Many simulation games like Dwarf fortes or similar have deep mechanics like you describe.

But the priority has always been decided by some static factor such as;

>Has a player taunted me? If so, attack that player
>Is player's X stat the lowest/highest of the party? Attack that player
>Has player dealt the most damage to me? Attack that player

What this AI is (purportedly) doing is making an informed choice based on player actions. For example, if a player casts a defensive cooldown, the boss might suddenly turn its focus onto another more vulnerable target and when the defensive runs out, it hits that character with a tank buster now that they cannot use their cooldown to soak it.

It is still a case of "IF -> THEN", but the decision making process is much more involved. Purportedly.

Unfortunately if you're going to be in modern society, you will inevitably hit certain bumps in the road, not all of which are reconcilable with a technoskeptic mindset. At various points in college for instance, we were essentially required to have a smartphone, which I thought was insane even then. I'm still a modern man with many of the flaws that entails, but I am putting in effort to resist the enthusiastic increase of technofetishism I see daily. There are certainly things I stand to improve on for my own benefit.
I'm not outright anti-tech, but we're in a culture that refuses to acknowledge or address the negatives much of it has brought that we could easily live without. I think there's a way to incorporate tech into our modern lives without it dominating us and erasing our ties to nature. The line has got to be drawn somewhere and everyone is too addicted to do it.

You're describing DnD
Its been like this forever

Its only modern day handholdy babby mmos that popularised "NOOOOOO YOU CANT DO THAT WITHOUT A TANK A HEALER AND SOME DAMAGE DEALERS NOOOO"

In older games you could bring whatever comp you wanted and what worked well depended entirely on the encounter, which is what made the game interesting because it would be different every time.

VS WoW popularising the tank and spank every fight for 20 years

The most interesting thing about AI right now is we're realistically looking at what will one day be considered the morse code of AI generation. 2 years ago AI was a massive joke used for generating funny images but in those short years its advanced far enough where it can create short films and pictures indistinguishable from real hand drawn and photographic shots. It's genuinely only a matter of time until a company shits out a "virtual companion" that sits on your phone and you can talk to endlessly - kind of like a portable Neuro-sama with higher intelligence - and everything explodes from there. That's the real end game of AI where you can have your own virtual gf who you can ERP with through voice. That's how you get people to buy. I'd buy that instantly.

I have since the beginning because it's all the same subject made up of smaller overlapping components. Technofetishism is what you see when someone posts their real name with their real face online, posting their life's personal details whether they're marital, financial, or whatever, this chronic oversharing. You think that's been on the downtrend? I think that anonymity is straight up a social taboo in polite society nowadays. That "common sense" that everything you put online is there forever has been completely overwritten. Everyone wants to be able to stalk you, to find out as much about you as possible without talking to you. Don't have social media? That's weird, what're you hiding, what a creep, etc. And that's just the bark at the moon insanity that regular people are encouraged to do to each other, never mind the ambitions of the people who actually run things here.

But it did not correct anything.
The AI false ASSUMED it needs correction and the actual prompt was supposed to the original version of this riddle, but it wasnt. There was no trickery, no second meanings - and THAT"S is the point.
LLM - large LANGUAGE MODEL, it simply predict what is the most likely next word will be. Actual intelligent being - human -- would read the riddle and figure this out, but AI simple got a bunch of familiar words with familair connections and and run with language relations.

The proper answer would be "family". The relationship between surgeon and the boy - "they are family" (and surgeon is his father)

AI was tricked without any trickery involved

ffs, you can say that to the AI in the next prompt. You entered a riddle wrong, the bot might think you made a mistake or answer it. It's basic communication. since it assumed, you can tell it to answer it with the changes in the next prompt.
This is what it means to be a master prompter. You can't prompt, that is why you will never catch up.

The AI replied wrong. It was not a riddle of any kind, it was asking a simple question that would've been trivial to answer correctly to any human. The reason AI fails at it is because AI DOES NOT THINK and cannot understand anything it says or you say. It's a parrot that mimicks noises without comprehending a word of it.

Having to guide it to answer correctly means it would have never answered correctly

Woops, totally right, I see my error now.

I had originally thought that the "adverb" was being applied to the verb "handled", when it was actually being applied to the word "entered".

And, honestly? Thanks for pointing this out. You rock! Seriously!

In future updates, perhaps I'll be able to parse out the meaning of your posts better. Until then, keep up the awesome prompts!

Groundbreaking.

if you asked that question of a person, they'd recognize what you're referencing too.

you're claiming the bot can't "think" because it didn't automatically go with what you asked it.

Thats the opposite of recognition btw. Actually recognizing means they would have brought up it was similar to a riddle, but also still answer the basic 1st grade question of recognizing the answer is literally given to it.

And then call you out on saying it wrong.
That's the problem. Almost all of these bots are designed to be polite or helpful, to the point that unreasonable responses come out because it's acting as if the prompt was valid while simultaneously recognizing the riddle.

What? No it didn't, it just replied as if the prompter had typed in the actual riddle.
