Overall this expansion has been terrible front to back. I haven't touched the 24 man in 7.3 but I'm almost afraid to see FFXI get ruined in any way. I have fond memories of that game from 2003-2005 so I'm not sure I want to see that touched. Square Enix needs to just move onto another project and if they want to salvage this game fire YoshiP and all of the american VAs. Also I noticed a lot less voice acting in 7.1->7.3, why are we getting less voice work and not more? Was it that VA strike in the US?

after my 20+ clears of sandoria, kamlanaut was by far the biggest kill rate. usually people fucking up the second phase transition for a rare p10 moment, people fucking up the pushback to fall off the platform or get on the damage field and die to the dot with a stack marker right after which is unusually powerful. its lethal to less than 10 i'm pretty sure. ultima and omega have a lot of flash and are far more intimidating than they are actually dangerous

kirin surprisingly catches a lot of people with the summoned ancients, and the dps check is unusually tight for first fight of a wing. ealdnarche is quite easy to corpsewalk through as he has 1 tankbuster he uses rarely and his split attack only needs about half the raid to save the dude who gets captured

Aero 3's about the only part I miss out of any old healer kit, it's really stupid White Mage doesn't get Flood, Tornado or Quake as any part of their kit. Maybe I'm just old school but this game allows you to play as every single class, it's unironically contributing to the gameplay being stale and boring if you want every job to be similarly viable for every encounter. Maybe I won't be able to play Paladin on one encounter because of XYZ mechanic issues, but if you're doing endgame shit you definitely have another tank leveled up. In the 1.0 Nael fight I liked that it basically required you to have 1-2 ranged DPS to handle running up the stairs to destroy meteorites. Just make another fight in the future where melee DPS are king to even the score, something with a lot of mobility. I think boss fights that wildly fluctuate like that will have a better shot at being interesting than meticulously smoothing out all the edges.

This isn't always true. I've ran into plenty of one trick paladins especially since it's the generic I wanna be the tank job.
It's hard to justify telling them hey man you need to level another tank, especially to people with limited time to play at the start of an expansion like Endwalker the flagship job for the expansion not doing enough damage to kill the final boss of the tier.

I know this because back in HW all of my casual friends thought that Paladin was the sturdiest tank (because it has a shield). Casuals have no fucking understanding of balance or what job is good at what. They just go PURELY off of vibes or memes, a lot of which are from weird one-off things (that one Warrior soloing P1) or what high-end players say. The casuals are not the ones steering actual balance or job design stuff with their complaints. The most you can say is that stuff might be done to appeal to casuals (i.e. dumbing down enmity management to encourage scrubs to tank) but usually it's not because of specific demands that casuals have, because they don't know enough to know which class is good, which is bad, what's optimal, etc.
