>>717898583>perform worse because of flatpak memesIf this were true then SteamOS would also perform worse. When you go into desktop mode the default way to install software is through flatpaks. Yet everyone seems to be fine and even your own benchmark (
>>717897396) confirms this since SteamOS is at 100% performance.
If Flatpaks really did perform so much worse, then why are there 5 gaming console emulators in the "most popular" category on Flathub? Not to mention Bottles is the 6th most popular app there and it is primarily used to play Windows video games on Linux.
You've ultimately proven yourself wrong.
And
>>717898367is correct. You don't just cherry pick one benchmark or even one youtube video and use it as fact. There's plenty of youtube videos comparing these distributions and in most cases they're within 2% of each other in performance. I've even seen CachyOS be the least performant one in multiple benchmarks, despite claiming it's a very performant distribution.

>>717898965I'm not sure if it's not an issue on Bazzite, but it's not an issue in general. One or two seconds of additional startup time means nothing when actually using the software doesn't have any performance loss in most cases.
